Editorial
Editorial is the process of assembling and refining the story to create a compelling and cohesive animation.
Story Assembly: Combining script, storyboards, and dialog audio to create a preliminary version of the narrative.
Rough Animation / Animatics: Incorporating early animation to test sequences and visual flow.
Pacing, Timing, Emotional Impact: Adjusting scene lengths, transitions, and timing to enhance storytelling and evoke the intended emotions.
Dialogue and Sound: Syncing dialogue and integrating sound effects to support the narrative and maintain clarity.
While you generally enter the editorial stage with a written script, it is common to review and revise the script based on the visual representation. In Ordinary Animator, this typically involves going back and editing the screenplay, then re-generating animations based on revised scenes.
Take an existing scene and adjust the screenplay and character assets to adjust the acting and timing of delivery.
Change the screenplay text to cause a different character action to be used.
Identify a new animation clip on mixamo.com for a wanted animation. Download it, add it the the animation clip library, then add it as an action for an existing character. Regenerate the scene to see it take effect.
Add additional camera instructions (such as a wide shot or close up) to add additional dramatic effect to a scene.
Edit the dialog to change the pacing of a scene. Try using longer sentences to slow down delivery and shorter sentences to speed up the pace of delivery.
