Alan Kent is VP of AI and Emerging Technologies at IM Digital and the founder of Ordinary Software Services LLC, where in his evenings he builds Ordinary Animator, an open pipeline for AI-assisted animation. He was previously VP of Search at eBay, VP of Architecture at Magento (now Adobe Commerce), and spent five years at Google. He has worked across the animation stack for years -- 2D (where the Adobe Character Animator forum software awarded him its "Legend" contributor rank for his volume of posts and likes), then 3D, primarily in Unity and in OpenUSD via NVIDIA Omniverse (a cinematography beta member and Omniverse ambassador), and now generative AI, mainly ComfyUI.
